At @fairmontbanff , our Food & Beverage department is taking a bold step in the fight against food waste.

Last year, we introduced @orbisk_zero_food_waste AI image recognition technology in our staff cafeterias. Each plate that comes back is scanned, giving us real insights into what’s being wasted and in what amounts.

Our colleagues see firsthand that they’re not just coming in for a meal, they’re contributing to something much bigger: a culture of sustainability and care that impacts our hotel, our community, and the environment around us.

This smart initiative is just one example of how we're working to #LeadTourismForGood in Banff and Lake Louise.

With outfits crafted from recycled and discarded materials (yes, you read that right!) and only 10% new fabric allowed, the creativity was off the charts. From runway-ready gowns to jaw-dropping designs, followed by talent performances that lit up the room, the energy was unforgettable.
